I cannot understand why there are places in large cities such as Naples, which remain almost unknown to the thousands of tourists who fill them in every season. This is the case of the Cave of Seiano, little known even by the inhabitants of the city itself, it is a wonderful place, imbued with culture and mysteries.<\/p>\n

Access to the cave is at the descent of Coroglio, we are in the former Italsider area of the Bagnoli district. The cave is rather a long tunnel of almost 800m that was built in imperial times and crosses the great hill of Posillipo.<\/p>\n

The darkness, the silence, the light humidity of the cave make it even more majestic and regal; an imposing work that crosses nature proudly and seems with it to resist the passing time.<\/p>\n

At the end of the tunnel, you reach a fantastic archaeological site that houses   the remains of a large theater with a capacity of about 2000 seats. From here the view is wonderful, the sea of Posillipo shows itself in all its splendor, kissed by the sun and caressed by the flight of seagulls.<\/p>\n

The archaeological area itself is home to a second theater, much smaller and indoor; the real wonder of this place are the pavements and mosaics that you can still admire   and are an important testimony that preserves stories and secrets of the farthest past.<\/p>\n

The walk to the site is pleasant; despite the heat you can find some cool in the lush vegetation and then it is also worth it for the wonderful views that meet along the way. A sort of natural terrace overlooks one of the most beautiful places in Naples, the Gaiola park.<\/p>\n

Here our guide shows us the so-called Cursed Villa. This villa of the early 1900s, so panoramic and so unfortunate, was the home of many illustrious people. Apparently, however, once established in the house, it seems that all the tenants then suffered atrocious misfortunes.<\/p>\n

Our visit ends with the return to the tunnel, after two pleasant hours in this wonderful place, a lovely place that I decided to define.. Unexplored.<\/p>\n
