Maria di Piedigrotta, hidden and silent there is the wonderful <em>Vergiliano Park,<\/em>not to be confused with the Virgilian Park of Posillipo, in which two souls rest that will always resist time and history, <em><a href=\"https:\/\/it.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Publio_Virgilio_Marone\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Publius Virgil marone<\/a><\/em> and <em><a href=\"https:\/\/it.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Giacomo_Leopardi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Giacomo Leopardi<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The Park houses:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the <em>cenotaph of Virgil, a<\/em>Columbarium of the Roman age believed to be the tomb of the poet;<\/li>\n<li>the<em> Tomb of Giacomo Leopardi,<\/em>a tall macaw, inside a tuff cave;<\/li>\n<li>the <em>Crypta Neapolitana<\/em> (also called Grotta di Pozzuoli or Posillipo), a Roman gallery &nbsp; that connects Mergellina and Fuorigrotta;<\/li>\n<li>a<em>newsstand in piperno with two tombstones,<\/em>dating back to 1668, on which is engraved a list of diseases treatable by the thermal waters present in the Phlegraean area.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A suggestive green and silent corner with a splendid view of Naples, is the ideal place to walk and above all unplug from a noisy and fast world that seems to be very far from this park.<\/p>\n<p>Admission to the Park is free and you will have the opportunity to visit it every day from 9 am to 2:50 pm, except on Tuesdays, closing day.<\/p>\n<p>Salita Della Grotta, 80122, Naples<\/p>\n<p><strong>How to get there:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Metro Line 2, Mergellina station (about 1 minute walk)<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Contacts<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Tel: 081 669390<\/em><\/p>\n<p>for more information visit the <a href=\"http:\/\/tombadivirgilio.it\/\">official website<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Vergilian Park On a Sunday like so many, after the usual week of study and intense work, when summer is still a long time away, but spring has already arrived, there is nothing better than enjoying the warm March sun while finding the most hidden corners of your city.
