In Matera they were guests of a<\/a> delicious B&B:<\/a><\/strong>house of the sun. In the heart of the Sassi di Matera, near Passo Caveoso, the small b&b is a real pearl hidden among the thousand uphill and downhill streets.<\/p>\n

The owner, Mr. Felice had conquered our hearts even before knowing him, thanks to an exchange of e-mails. He had bothered to give us all the information about parking lots and how to get comfortable and fast at Casa del Sole. Getting to know him in person was confirmation of what we thought: happy is a school teacher, a polite, elegant person with a really pleasant humor. He’s proud of his rooms and can’t wait to show us ours and you know why? There is a view that you fall in love with:Matera is at our feet and Madonna dell’Idris shines in the already dark blue sky at 19:00.<\/p>\n

Our small suite in the house of the sun is equipped with everything: a small kitchen, well equipped with everything you need for a pasta dish or a simple coffee. The small bathroom is very comfortable with a walk-in shower, services and hairdryer. The television is in our bedroom, very comfortable and intimate. The suite is always clean and tidy throughout the stay.<\/p>\n

This time, however, we can also tell you about another room of the structure as the next day we were joined by some friends, guests also of the sun’s house. Their room is located at the bottom, it doesn’t have a view but it’s a gem. It is a rather large annex, the sleeping area is located in the part with mezzanine, the bed illuminated by beautiful LEDs. The living room is huge and cared for in detail… from the large window on Matera painted on the wall, to the vintage chest of drawers on which some musical instruments are resting. Also this mini apartment is equipped with a kitchen, an all-blue kitchen in vintage style that is really very pretty, also complete with everything and cared for in detail.<\/p>\n

Sunday breakfast is prepared in the lobby of Casa del sole, by Betty the wife of Felice… also very sweet, delicate and helpful. We need croissant, coffee and cappuccino right away and Betty worries that we didn’t taste the salty breakfast, ready for us. Meanwhile, sipping our coffee, we listen to the notes of a melody played by Felice on the piano, his passion. With Betty we chat a lot, it is really nice to talk to her, we seem to know her always she is caring and kind.<\/p>\n

The weekly breakfast instead is offered by the owners of Casa del sole at a bar a stone’s throw from the structure, tested and approved by our Felice and we confirm that croissant and cappuccino are excellent!<\/p>\n

Why do we recommend this property? So we definitely recommend it for the kindness and care of the owners, for the wonderful location and for the attention to detail and cleanliness of the rooms. Perfect if you are as a couple or as a family and want to live Matera at 360 degrees, in the heart of the Sassi.<\/p>\n

Please note: like all the structures on the stones there is no parking but there are two large municipal parking lots: one for a fee is The other free, both unguarded. Then prepare comfortable clothing and light suitcases to get off in the old town.<\/em><\/p>\n
