You know those somewhat grey Sundays, the ones where you don’t feel like doing anything of your own?<\/strong> You are hungry but zero desire to cook and the only thing you would like to do would be to stand in front of the fireplace with a nice glass of red. On the Sunday when we discovered thePorrino brothers tavern in Caserta it<\/strong> was just one of those Sundays.<\/p>\n

The first bitter cold, the desire for home cooking, a good wine and 4 chats with friends around the table…<\/p>\n

ThePorrino brothers tavern<\/strong> is a relaxed place where you feel at home. The street-facing windows and warm lights are reminiscent of parisian intimate and collected coffee environments. Inside many small objects of a simple but always pleasant <\/span>everyday life: a piano, paintings, a large clock, the fireplace on…<\/p>\n

We choose a good red, full-bodied and well aged, a Taurasi from 2009<\/strong> that will accompany chatter, laughter and a menu of earth.<\/p>\n

Our starter includes a platter of local cured meats and cheeses, eggplant parmigiana medallions, a potato pie.<\/p>\n

For the first course we taste a few first courses of land: scialatielli with walnuts and cheese shaded with rum,<\/strong>scialatielli with zucchini and again a spaghetti with fresh and juicy piennolo cherry tomatoes.<\/strong> The thing that struck us the most was the possibility to really eat all together: in fact, despite the different pasta formats we had chosen, this was lowered at the same time for us all so that we were served at the same time and enjoy a cooking made then at the time and not “resumed” at the time of ordering.<\/p>\n

The taste of each dish was simple and genuine, as homemade.<\/p>\n

Second we order a mixture of meat for<\/strong> two people that included chicken, sausage, fillet and lots of grilled vegetables, boiled potatoes and an excellent accompanying cream. The owner and chef of thePorrino brothers’<\/strong> tavern also brings us a dish with fillet tastings, very soft as butter.<\/p>\n

Finally, we conclude with some very good desserts also those of which: tiramisu by the spoon, profiteroles and chocolate cake. The selection of liqueurs and digestives also surprises us: all prepared at home by the owner’s mother.<\/p>\n

The prices of this tavern? perfectly related to the quality offered<\/strong>… maybe even a little hair lower than it should be.<\/p>\n

In addition, we have discoveredthat the Fratelli Porrino tavern<\/strong> offers “off-menu” dishes every day for all those who are passing through, perhaps visiting the Palace<\/a><\/strong> or those who want to enjoy good dishes such as those at home on lunch break.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
